Harim Peiris served as Presidential Spokesman from 2001-2005. He concurrently served as Director General for Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation from 2004 – 2005.

He also served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation from 2003 – 2004.
